PLACES' UPCOMING ISSUE, "THE FUTURE METROPOLITAN LANDSCAPE"
Guest-edited by UC Berkeley Landscape Architecture and Planning Professor Peter Bosselmann, PLACES 19.1 takes up the issue of "The Future Metropolitan Landscape." Across the world, cities today are confronted with powerful and disruptive forces of social, economic and spatial change. Such times of restructuring, however, have also opened profound possibilities for creative reengagement with issues of form, environment, and social equity. Great opportunities exist, for example, to reclaim wasted landscapes, provide for social and economic "reterritorialization," and develop new forms of "green" infrastructure. The issue includes contributions from an international panel of designers and planners, including Tom Sieverts, Bernardo Secchi, Hidenobu Jinnai, Francois Ascher, Michael Hough, and Randy Hester. Read selected articles from the upcoming issue at www.places-journal.org.
