College degree in Planning with major coursework in long-range planning, forecasting, statistics, and related computer applications, plus 2 years related experience, or a Master's degree in Planning and major coursework as listed. Must posses thorough knowledge of current planning principles and techniques, as well as the ability to use ARC/VIEW and ARC/INFO software. Knowledge of urban dynamics and developmental impact on neighborhoods, traffic, city services, and environment. Excellent communication skills required, including the ability to make public presentations and establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must have ability to research, develop, and implement various land use/transportation plans. Requires a valid Georgia driver's license and a satisfactory 7-year driving history, to include no DUI's in the last five years, a criminal background check, and the successful completion of a one-year working test period. Open until filled. Entry level salary is $35,880 annually + an excellent benefit package, which includes no social security deduction, and two 100% City-paid retirement plans.
