BOCEP Offers More Choices For Continuing Education
Rutgers University, Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program
Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program, which offers the largest selection of instructor-guided online courses for planning professionals, has added more classes for 2006-2007. You can learn:
• How to conduct retail market analysis (Developer's Toolbox: Retail Market Analysis)
• How to be more influential and persuasive in diverse environments (Cultural Competency)
• How to turn your great ideas into legally defensible codes (Nuts and Bolts of Ordinance Drafting)
• The basics of legal issues in environmental planning (Environmental Planning Law)
• How to engage young people in planning (Youth Participation)
These classes are among nearly 20 offered by the Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program. We plan to add about 20 more classes between now and May.
BOCEP courses are high quality, convenient and affordable. We've served more than 170 planning professionals (many of them mid- and senior-level). More than 90% of students surveyed said they would recommend the BOCEP program to their colleagues. A vast majority said that their course met or exceeded their expectations, they learned a lot, or the BOCEP teaching methods encouraged their learning.
If your idea of online learning is simply CD-ROMs and webinars, you may be pleasantly surprised. BOCEP courses are highly interactive. You can share ideas and work on problems with professionals and instructors from around the United States – and even the world. But in most BOCEP courses, there are no scheduled meetings, and you can participate from almost any computer with an Internet connection.
BOCEP courses are affordable. Planetizen subscribers pay only $235 per course (use discount code 6874f), and there are even more discounts for members of nonprofit organizations or small government agencies. You could win a free BOCEP class. Take the 2006 Customer Preference Survey and you could be one of five winners of a free course.
BOCEP offers a variety of courses in community and economic development, leadership and management, planning law and legal issues, smart growth and sustainable development, and urban design and placemaking. Students who pass three courses can receive a Certificate of Completion.
