UPENN Dept. City Planning seeks two Faculty positions
UPENN Department of City Planning
The Department of City and Regional Planning, School of Design, University of Pennsylvania, seeks applicants for two, tenure-track faculty positions, one at the assistant or associate professor level and one at the professor level in the following areas: Community and Economic Development or Transportation, Environmental Planning and Growth Management. The position will begin July 1, 2007. Salary is negotiable.
Applicants for either position must currently hold a Ph.D. in Planning or a related field, and have evidence of noteworthy scholarship and practice in the specified areas. Applicants should be capable of teaching in Penn's Master of City Planning core as well as a specialized field. Demonstrated leadership capacity for the senior position is also preferred. Members of the Penn faculty teach two courses per semester and supervise doctoral students. Externally funded research and an active publication agenda are also expected.
Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae and the names of three references by October 15, 2006, when the screening of applicants will begin. While the positions will remain open until filled and applications received after that date will be considered if possible, the Department expects to make the appointments in Spring, 2007.
