Large Format and Big Box Retail Development: The Chicago Story
The Real Estate Center at DePaul University
Executives from some of the nation's and area's largest retail firms, and real estate service firms that work with them in Chicago, will participate in a half-day symposium offered by The Real Estate Center of DePaul University and The Chaddick Institute for Metropolitan Development.
The symposium, Large-Format and Big Box Retail Development: The Chicago Story, will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 7:30 am -12:00 noon at the Harris Bank Auditorium at 115 South LaSalle Street in Chicago. This annual symposium is part of an ongoing effort to provide insightful and thought-provoking forums on issues impacting commercial real estate.
Confirmed participants in the symposium include David Ariola, Vice President of U.S. Equities; Jennifer Boss, Senior Vice President of Heitman; Elizabeth I. Holland, Trustee, International Council of Shopping Centers; Michael Mallon, Vice President of Real Estate, Dominick's Finer Foods, James Matanky, President, Matanky Realty Group Companies; Lyneir D. Richardson, Vice President, General Growth Properties, Inc.; Forrest Russell, Development Manager, Target Corporation; John P. Sweeney; Principal, JPS Interests, among others.
Through panel discussions and presentations, participants will speak to a variety of approaches being taken or considered, including rethinking the traditional mall strategy; bringing grocery-anchored retail to a traditionally-underserved community; introducing retail in an historically non-retail location; and evolving trends in large-format and big-box retail design.
Registration is $79 per person before Wednesday, November 24. Late registration after November 24 will be $104. For further information, please call Martha Frish, AICP at 312-362-5906, or email [email protected].
