Envision Utah seeks Consultant for Housing Needs Analysis Study
Coalition for Utah's Future (sponsors of Envision Utah)
Envision Utah will be collaborating with the state's two largest metropolitan planning organizations, Wasatch Front Regional Council and Mountainland Association of Governments, in the development of a land use transportation vision prior to development of their next long-range transportation plans.
The four counties in question are Weber, Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah Counties. Total population of the counties is 1.8 million, with projections to reach 2.8 million by 2030.
The vision process will be an opportunity for local elected officials and other stakeholders to explore the effects of different growth and transportation strategies at the sub-regional scale and the cumulative impact of such strategies at the regional scale.
To provide information to project participants on likely housing wants and needs in the coming decades Envision Utah seeks the assistance of a qualified consultant to conduct a housing needs analysis.
STUDY COMPONENTS
1. Four housing demand projections to the forecast year (either 2030 or 2040), one per county, as a function of forecast socio-demographic population characteristics. Forecasts will be provided to consultant that outline Age, Household Size, and Household Income by Transportation Analysis Zone.
2. Description of relevant recent shifts in housing preferences, either locally or nationally, in response to new housing products and development patterns. Estimate of range of impact of changing preferences on potential future housing demand in the 4-county Salt Lake region.
