Receive Elaine Cogan's 'Tip of the Month' for Planning Commissioners
Planning Commissioners Journal
Award-winning planning consultant Elaine Cogan will be preparing a monthly Tip for Planning Commissioners, available by free e-mail subscription.
To sign up to receive these, go to: http://www.plannersweb.com/tips1.html (after you enter your email address & "join", be sure to check the box "I want to receive mailings from the Planning Commissioners Journal" on the next page).
The first Tip will be e-mailed to you within the next few days.
You can unsubscribe from the Tip of the Month at any time (and your e-mail address will not be shared with any other individual or organization).
Each Tip of the Month will be short -- between 200 and 500 words -- and to the point. The goal is to get planning commissioners and others to take just a minute or two to think about one aspect of their "job" as a commissioner. The first Tip you'll receive is titled: "Be Patient." Tips for the Summer months will include: "Trust Your Instincts," and "Speak Out."
Planning directors and staff are free to photocopy the Tip of the Month and distribute it to members of your planning board or others. Or you can alert your members to this e-mail service if they want to sign up for themselves.
FYI, Elaine Cogan was project manager for the "Complete Communities for Clackamas County" (Oregon) project, winner of the 2002 American Planning Association Public Education award. Her "Effective Planning Commissioner" column has run in the Planning Commissioners Journal since 1991.
