Austin RFQ for Redevelopment of Seaholm Power Plant and District
City of Austin Purchasing
The City of Austin has issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Redevelopment Concept for the Seaholm Power Plant, its immediate grounds and adjacent properties (collectively known the "Seaholm Property"), which comprise approximately six acres of property in downtown Austin, overlooking Town Lake.
The Seaholm Power Plan last generated power in 1989 and currently contains approximately 110,000 square feet of potentially usable space.
The key objective of the Request for Qualifications and Redevelopment Concept is to identify a highly qualified development team capable of implementing a first phase of the greater Seaholm District Master Plan.
The plan outlines a vision for redevelopment of Seaholm as a major mixed-use public attraction and as an important hub for pedestrian, bicycle and transit systems entering the downtown area. A key priority is to preserve the historic structures on the site.
The RFQ may be accessed on the Austin City Connection, the City's official Web site, at http://waller.ci.austin.tx.us/purchase/get_ad_detail.cfm?ID=RL04300061.
For information about the RFQ contact Rosemary Ledesma, Buyer Senior, Finance Department, 512.974.2011 or e-mail [email protected].
The City of Austin is committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Reasonable modifications and equal access to communications will be provided upon request.
