The Oconee County Board of Commissioners (BOC)is requesting proposals from qualified firms and individuals for a Comprehensive Economic Development Plan. Oconee County desires professional assistance to formulate and draft a modernized Economic Development plan that will assist Oconee County in attracting new businesses and industries and help the community guide growth in such a way as to continue, and enhance, our quality of life. The effort will include, but not be limited to: co-ordination with various county and community officials and citizens through meetings, presentations, and community events; identifying community strengths and weaknesses; identifying target industries and potential development areas; reviewing existing programs and recommended changes if necessary; and, preparing and presenting a final report that includes recommendations to attract target industries, accomplish economic growth through collaboration and targeted marketing, build a brand identity and identify the best way to organize and operate a continual county-wide economic development program.

The goal of this endeavor is to identify and create an economic development program for Oconee County and to create community support for such a program.
