ArcGIS Version of INDEX Released
Criterion Planners/Engineers
Shaping sustainable communities and achieving smart growth goals just became easier with the release of INDEX 8x for ArcGIS. The interactive design and analytical power of INDEX is now coupled with the most advanced GIS platform commerically available from ESRI. Users are able to create scenarios on-the-fly with unique Paint-the-Town functionality, measure the scenarios with performance indicators, select the most robust using stakeholder values, and monitor implementation to insure goal achievement.
According to Eliot Allen of Criterion Planners/Engineers, the Portland Oregon-based developer of INDEX, "We're delighted to offer INDEX for ArcGIS. Communities across the country are rapidly migrating to this state-of-the-art platform, and it's important that planning support tools take advantage of the new capabilities that ESRI designed into ArcGIS."
First introduced in 1994, INDEX is today the most widely distributed planning support tool in the country, with over 100 licensees in 35 states. INDEX is distinguished among land-use and urban design tools by its Paint-the-Town scenario designer, its integrated multi-modal travel network, and its unique 4D method of estimating transportation impacts of alternative land-use plans.
INDEX 8x is available in a standard PlanBuilder version for $3900, or in custom versions designed by Criterion for specific communities and applications.
