USC Conference on California Growth Forecasts
University of Southern California
Sponsored by California State Department of Finance, Demographic Research Unit-State Census Data Center; US Bureau of the Census; Public Policy Institute of California; and USC School of Policy, Planning, and Development.
This year’s workshop has two broad purposes. The first is to explore the difficulties and implications of long-term population growth forecasts for California and its regions. The second, pursued in the afternoon workshop sessions, is to address in detail key assumptions and methods pertaining to particular forecast variables.
This workshop draws together experts in demography, key policy makers and administrators of the U.S. Bureau of the Census and individuals who utilize new and innovative demographic techniques in their professional endeavors. We hope you will join us in this important and unique event that is designed to address the concerns of demographic data users in business, government, the non-profit sector and the media.
