Safe Routes to School workshop in Chicago on May 10, 2002
Chicago Area Transportation Study
On May 10, 2002, civic leaders, community planners, transportation engineers, school officials, parents and concerned residents will gather at the Harold Washington Library in downtown Chicago for a workshop on Safe Routes to School. The workshop will provide an overview of Safe Routes to School initiatives around the country and in the Chicagoland region. Participants will gain ideas for infrastructure projects and promotion programs to get more children safely walking and biking to school. Featured speakers include Mr. Richard Killingsworth, an expert on the connection between transportation options and children's health, and Ms. Wendi Kallins of the Marin County Bicycle Coalition.
