New Site Highlights Teens' Contributions to Public Spaces
Project for Public Spaces
Project for Public Spaces is proud to announce a new education and advocacy feature involving teens and public space. We developed "Teens as Community Builders" to counteract the negative images imposed on teens by highlighting programs in which teens are improving public spaces in their communities. In addition, we hope to inspire and serve as a resource for others to initiate similar programs.
This web-based feature profiles programs like the Prospect Park Youth Council in Brooklyn, where teens work not only to restore this grand park, but also to produce events there for their peers, given the shortage of park activities for youth. Another highlight is a space designed by and for teens within the central library in Phoenix. Check out this great new resource!
