RENEW NANAIMO: 2002
Home Sweet Home
RENEW NANAIMO: 2002, by British Columbia planners Roger Kemble and Charles Christopherson, describes a comprehensive approach to the redevelopement of downtown Nanaimo.

Nanaimo has unlimited potential. All it needs is more poured concrete more millions on make-work projects. How often have we heard that.
What is really need is a new paradigm. But power is never relinquished voluntarily.
Our plan brings into focus locally unmentionable scared cows that are holding the city back. It throw light on the inability of a backward mayor, council and administration to address the salient issues.
The on-going story of RENEW NANAIMO:2002 is that planning is not solely a professional office matter. It is not a dry sciencific list of "thou shalt nots," either, as so many planning documents are. This is living urban planning.
