The University of Washington has received four new grants from the National Science Foundation in the areas of land use and transportation modeling and urban ecology, totalling
over $8 million over the next 5 years. These grants extend prior research in developing the UrbanSim model, and prior research in modeling urban ecological impacts such as land
cover change and habitat fragmentation. We are now recruiting applications for the Interdisciplinary PhD Program in Urban Design and Planning for candidates that would be
