New Urban Council Report Released
The Town Paper
In the spring of 2001, the first new urban Council took place in Charleston, S.C. Leading practitioners of town design discussed their projects, from inception and charrette to implementation and performance. An audience of peers and experts offered critiques, advancing the state of art through discussion, education and constructive criticism.
The Town Paper has collected that commentary in The Council Report. The Council Report presents fresh voices and new viewpoints on the design of new urban towns and neighborhoods. It is fascinating, revealing reading for anyone interested in the quality of our built environment.
Featured Projects: Celebration, Civano, Haile Village, I'On, Karow-Nord, Kentlands, King Farm, Southlake
Each project is presented with statistics, good/bad evaluation from the designer, vision keeper's statement, and juror reviews. The Council Report includes plans and photos (many in full color) along with other essays related to the evaluation of NU projects. Fifty-two pages in tabloid format, 10.5" x 16.5".
