Urban Planning Seminars Slated for August, September in Seaside, Florida

Great Houses for Great Neighborhoods, presented by Todd Zimmerman of Zimmerman/Volk Associates is scheduled for August 16 - 18, 2001 in the Town Meeting Hall. Intended for builders, developers and designers, the workshop will focus on the residential buildings and dwelling units that make up a successful New Urbanist neighborhood. Participants are invited to submit house plans for consideration and review during the conference. Speakers include Todd Zimmerman, Laurie Volk, Carson Looney, David Furman, James Hoffman, Robert Orr, and Rob Robinson. Tuition is $725 before June 30 and $795 thereafter.
Internationally acclaimed town planner Andres Duany presents his seminar on Traditional Neighborhood Development Techniques September 24 ? 26, 2001 in Seaside. Intended for developers, builders, planners, architects, engineers, investors, lenders, politicians and civil servants, this seminar analyzes current development practices and presents New Urbanism as an alternative to development patterns that have led to suburban sprawl. Speakers include Andres Duany, Jeff Speck, Jackie Benson, Rick Hall, Doris Goldstein, Todd Zimmerman and many others. Tuition is $795 before August 15 and $875 thereafter.
