Apply NowThe City of Chico, California, Community Development Department is seeking a seasoned professional to fill a Principal Planner position within the department. The ideal candidate would possess a strong background working in local government, extensive experience processing complex planning projects, excellent communication and leadership skills, and will have demonstrated experience with the California Environmental Quality Act, General Plans, Specific Plans, zoning codes, and other land use regulations. The Principal Planner is a key member of the City's management team and will be deeply involved in larger City policy discussions.
Minimum Qualifications: Five years of progressively responsible professional planning experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity, and equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in planning, geography, or a related field. Membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) is desired.
