More surprising entries on the list include Houston and Los Angeles.

Smart Growth America’s 2023 Foot Traffic Ahead survey named three Ohio cities among the top 25 most walkable in the United States. According to a Spectrum News 1 report by Lydia Taylor, Cleveland ranked 17th, Columbus ranked 19th, and Cincinnati took the 25th spot.

The report uses real estate and rental data and factors including proximity to amenities. However, walkability measures have garnered some criticism for not always reflecting the reality of mobility in a particular neighborhood or city.
