The announcement finally severs the ties between the ride-hailing company and its founder and former CEO.
"Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: UBER) today announced that Travis Kalanick will resign from the company’s Board of Directors, effective December 31, 2019," according to a press release posted on the Uber Investor website.
Kalanick will use the new time to "focus on his new business and philanthropic endeavors."
