"Urban transit app Moovit has announced a partnership with parking space app SpotHero to help commuters find parking facilities near transit stations," reports Jason Plautz.

SpotHero adds an additional layer of data to Moovit's growing "Mobility as a Service" platform, improving convenience for people who drive to and park at transit stations. The app is "an attempt at solving the "first-mile, last-mile" problem of getting commuters to and from light rail or buses," according to Plautz.

As noted by Plautz, Moovit has been liberal with partnerships in building its way toward a full-service mobility as a service app. Moovit previously partnered with Microsoft, TomTom, and Uber.

The app will be tested in the San Francisco Bay Area before spreading nationally.
