Administrative changes announced by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development will impact programs like the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships programs.
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a package of 19 regulatory and administrative waivers in a press release. The administrative changes are designed accelerate recovery from hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria in affected communities.
According to the press release, HUD's state and local partners can now access a waiver through a new simplified notification process for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) Program, the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program, and the Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) Program.
The press release includes a list of the new waivers and abbreviated comment periods as well.
