Planning & Support Services Coordinator
This position is located in the Planning and Development Department of the Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC), a unique urban campus in Downtown Denver. AHEC is the service provider for 38,000 students, and approximately 5000 faculty and staff working at and attending the Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver and the University of Colorado Denver. The Auraria Campus will be undergoing many changes over the coming years, and support from this position will be instrumental in the implementation of the Auraria Campus 2007 Master Plan.
The Planning and Support Services Coordinator provides services for the Planning and Development Department by assisting with master plan implementation, including such activities as conducting and coordinating planning and site studies, surveys and other acquisition of data; maintaining and reviewing records and documents related to space utilization and planning, preparing massing diagrams to depict proposed campus development in relation to other campus uses and downtown; ensuring campus AutoCAD data is updated, and administering related software, space management and cost model programs. In addition, the position will work with institutional representatives, coordinating their data needs and providing planning and support for the development of their neighborhood plans.
Minimum Requirements: A Bachelors degree in Planning or Landscape Architecture and a minimum of two years of experience in site planning, development of land use options, master planning or related experience which included experience working with AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator and Sketchup. Experience with GIS and or Adobe InDesign is preferred.
The successful candidate will have the ability to organize, analyze, and manage multiple priorities and must demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse audience.
Salary & Benefits: Salary $45,000- $50,000 with a comprehensive benefits package that includes 21 vacation days and 15 sick days per year; life, disability and retirement benefits.
