Schools Not to Consider

If you thought that graduate school in Planning was for you, went to school, but was only shafted from your degree; welcome to the majority of realities posed by many graduate students.

Sometimes, faculty members in a program get too far ahead of themselves and forget their primary purpose: to educate students. Sadly, one school in particular is straying from this concept and is actually failing it's students as they go. Do you want to know the name of this school?

I'll let you find out for yourself. However, it might take you several years to actually realize that the program your in actually isn't about helping you pass, but actually setting you up for failure.

The intent of this post isn't to stop you from pursuing higher education. It's actually meant to tell you to be extremely involved in your program. To demand the most of your faculty, fellow students, but mostly out of yourself.

Sadly, it doesn't seem that the above mentioned strategy will work for most. Ironically, it's the students who are least involved in their program who seem to make it out the easiest. Mainly, because they will most likely be able to provide faculty with the exact answers that they want.

If you think that graduate school is an opportunity for you to think out of the box. You are preparing yourself for a horrible awakening. Graduate school for me has actually been seeking more and more conformance to a system. After all, a master's degree is mainly a professional degree, preparing you to lead the pack; of course, within the current system.

If you think that your classmates will stand by you in your moment of need. Think again.
It's actually the alumni who will stand by your side, they really would like some company at the top of the ladder.
